What We Cover in a Consultation

A consultation is not a trial. There’s no makeup application involved. It’s a planning conversation where we go through everything so I can understand your vision and you can understand my approach. Here’s what we typically cover:

Your wedding calendar. Which events are you having? Engagement, haldi, mehendi, sangeet, wedding, reception? What are the dates, venues, and timings? This helps me plan how many looks you need and whether any events overlap on the same day.

Your outfits and jewellery. Show me photos or the actual pieces if you have them. The outfit colour, fabric, and jewellery style directly influence every makeup decision, from eye colour to lip shade to draping style.

Your skin. I ask about your skin type (oily, dry, combination), any concerns (acne, pigmentation, sensitivity), products you currently use, and any allergies. If your wedding is a few months away, I can suggest a skincare routine to prep your skin.

Your preferences. Do you want a natural look or full glam? Matte or dewy? Airbrush or HD? Bold eyes or soft eyes? I want to hear what you love and what you don’t want. Reference photos are very helpful here.

Pricing and logistics. I share a clear breakdown of what each event costs and what’s included. We discuss travel, timing, and the 40% advance booking process. No hidden charges, no surprises later.

How the Consultation Works

The consultation can happen in person at your home in Navi Mumbai, or over a video call if that’s more convenient. Most brides prefer a WhatsApp video call because it’s quick and easy to share outfit photos during the conversation.

The whole thing takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Some brides have everything figured out and just need pricing. Others are still deciding on outfits and want help planning the looks. Both are fine. I work with wherever you are in the planning process.

After the consultation, I send you a written quote on WhatsApp with a clear breakdown of every event, the price per look, what’s included, and the booking terms. You take your time to decide. There’s no pressure and no expiry on the quote (though peak season dates do fill up fast).

When to Schedule a Consultation

As early as you want. Some brides reach out 6 months before the wedding when they’re just starting to plan. Others contact me 4 to 6 weeks before when most things are finalised. Both work.

The advantage of an early consultation is that I can give you skincare advice that actually has time to make a difference. If you have acne, pigmentation, or uneven texture, starting a good routine 2 to 3 months before the wedding can significantly improve how your skin looks on the day, and how the makeup sits.

If you’re reaching out closer to the wedding, that’s fine too. We just move faster through the planning and go straight to booking the trial.

Skincare Guidance

One of the most valuable parts of the consultation is the skincare discussion. Good skin is the foundation of good makeup. During the consultation, I assess your current skin condition and give you practical advice:

For oily skin: I recommend lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturisers and mattifying products to use in your daily routine leading up to the wedding.

For dry skin: I suggest hydrating serums and richer moisturisers to plump and nourish the skin so the makeup base sits perfectly.

For specific concerns like active acne or dark spots, I recommend seeing a dermatologist early. I can suggest what to look for in a dermatologist visit, but I always defer to a medical professional for skin treatments.

This guidance is included for free as part of the consultation. I want your skin in the best possible condition on the wedding day because it makes the makeup look better and last longer.
