Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Makeup in Navi Mumbai
Your pre-wedding shoot is the one time your makeup needs to be built entirely for the camera. Not for guests, not for a ceremony, just for how it looks in photos and videos. I do photoshoot looks that are optimised for lighting, angles, and whatever setting your photographer has planned.
How Photoshoot Makeup is Different
Photoshoot makeup is not the same as event makeup. When you’re at a wedding or an engagement, the makeup needs to look good in person and in photos. For a photoshoot, the only thing that matters is how it looks on camera. That changes the approach.
I adjust the intensity of the base, the contour, and the eye makeup based on the type of photography. For close-up portrait shots, the base needs to be seamless with zero visible texture. For wide shots, the features need more definition so they don’t get lost. For golden hour outdoor shoots, I go with a dewier, more luminous finish that catches the warm light beautifully. For studio shoots with artificial lighting, I mattify more carefully because studio lights pick up every bit of shine.
I also coordinate with your photographer if possible. If I know the lighting setup and the colour palette of the shoot, I can adjust the makeup to complement the overall mood. Some photographers prefer warmer tones, others like a clean, neutral palette. Knowing this in advance makes a real difference in the final images.
Outdoor vs Studio Shoots in Navi Mumbai
Navi Mumbai has some beautiful outdoor shoot locations: the Kharghar Hills, the Palm Beach Road promenade, the Belapur creek area, the Parsik Hill viewpoint, and open grounds near Panvel. I’ve done photoshoot makeup for couples at several of these spots and the approach varies with each.
For outdoor shoots, the main challenge is weather. If the shoot is during golden hour (the hour before sunset), the light is warm and forgiving, so I go with a dewy, glowing base that catches that beautiful light. If it’s midday with harsh overhead sun, I mattify more and use a slightly heavier base because direct sunlight washes out makeup.
For studio shoots in Navi Mumbai, the lighting is controlled and consistent. I can be more precise with contour and highlight placement because I know exactly how the light will hit. Studio makeup tends to be slightly more defined than outdoor makeup because the photographer controls every angle.
For shoots with multiple locations (some outdoor, some indoor), I build the base for the more challenging setting and adjust with powder or highlight spray as we move between locations.
Multiple Outfit Changes
Most pre-wedding shoots involve 2 to 3 outfit changes. Some couples go from a traditional look (lehenga/sherwani) to a casual look (jeans and shirts) to a semi-formal look (cocktail dress/blazer). Each outfit change usually needs at least a lip colour change and sometimes a full eye look adjustment.
I stay on set throughout the shoot to handle these changes. Between outfits, I adjust the lip colour, refresh the base, touch up the hairstyle, and restyle the draping if the outfit changes from a saree to a dress. I also do the groom’s touch-up between looks.
For the first look, I do a fresh, full application. For subsequent looks, I modify what’s already there rather than starting from scratch, which keeps the skin fresh and avoids product buildup from layering too many applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is photoshoot makeup different from bridal makeup?
Photoshoot makeup is built entirely for the camera. I adjust the base finish, contour intensity, and eye definition based on the lighting setup (natural, golden hour, studio) and the type of shots (close-up vs wide). Bridal makeup needs to look good in person and in photos. Photoshoot makeup only needs to look perfect on camera, so the approach and product choices are different.
Do you stay for the entire photoshoot?
Yes. I stay on set throughout the shoot to handle outfit changes, lip colour swaps, hair restyling, base touch-ups, and draping adjustments. Between outfit changes, I refresh the makeup so every look photographs as fresh as the first. I also do the groom’s touch-up between looks if needed.
How much does pre-wedding photoshoot makeup cost?
₹14,000 per look with everything included: HD makeup, hairstyling, draping, on-set touch-ups, and all accessories. If you need multiple distinct looks (not just outfit changes but completely different makeup styles), each full look is priced separately. Message me with your shoot plan and I’ll share an exact quote.
Can you do makeup for both the bride and groom?
Yes. I do the bride’s full look and the groom’s grooming (skin evening, shine control, brow cleanup) for the shoot. The groom’s grooming is quick and subtle. Nobody will be able to tell he’s wearing anything, but he’ll look polished and camera-ready in every frame.
What if the shoot runs longer than expected?
I stay as long as the shoot needs. Pre-wedding shoots often run 3 to 5 hours, sometimes longer with multiple locations and outfit changes. I don’t leave until the photographer is done. The pricing covers the full shoot, not just a fixed number of hours.
Do you coordinate with the photographer?
Yes, if possible. If you share the photographer’s contact or the shoot plan, I can check the lighting setup, the colour palette, and the location details in advance. This lets me adjust the makeup to complement the overall visual direction. Even a quick WhatsApp exchange with the photographer helps.
